Foodies unite! Come Take Advantage of Great Deals at Amazing Restaurants
I have a dream of becoming a foodie. Someone who delves into culinary delights, and doesn’t resort to the local chain restaurant when going for a night out. Unfortunately, my food budget doesn’t line up with this dream. But a friend of mine started to telling me about all the amazing local restaurants and the incredible meals she’d been sampling at places minutes from my front door. So about four years ago, some of my girlfriends and I decided to periodically have a girls’ night. Usually my foodie friend picks the place, and we splurge at amazing local restaurants in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. So, you can imagine how excited I am that we will be able to take advantage of the upcoming Restaurant Weeks.
Both Norfolk and Virginia Beach will be hosting their Restaurant Week very soon! Norfolk’s Restaurant Week is January 17–24, and Virginia Beach’s will be February 22–28. Coastal Virginia is entering into an era where we locals can count on our restaurants having amazing food on par with the big cities. No longer do we have to travel to New York or Chicago to sample world class fare. Norfolk has hosted Restaurant week for 18 years, and Virginia Beach for 11! Local chefs use this as an opportunity to put their creative hats on and try out exciting and adventurous fare.
Maybe there’s a restaurant you’ve been dying to try, but it’s cost prohibitive. Over 100 restaurants will be participating in these cities’ event! And the prices are great—two-course lunches for $12, and three-course dinners starting at $25! At some of these places, $25 would be the price for the entrée alone.
Plan Your Restaurant Week Experience:
Step 1: Research the Restaurants
There will be a variety of food genres and lots of different fare on offer. Decide what you want. Do you want French, American, Italian, Indian, Steak? There is something for every taste. Each restaurant has its own pricing guide and a specialized menu for the event. You will need to click on these links to read about the restaurants participating in Restaurant Week and to see their select menus.
Step 2: Get Your Group Together
Restaurant Week is more fun with friends, or sharing a meal with that special someone. So tell your nearest and dearest about this amazing opportunity!
Step 3: Make Your Reservation
Restaurant Week lasts for a week… duh. So there will be lots of locals and visitors taking advantage of these special offers. It’s a good idea to plan ahead and make a reservation if it’s available, especially if you’re planning to go over the weekend. The above links will take you to the restaurant’s contact info so you can get your place in line. If the participating restaurant doesn’t take reservations, it might be a good idea to get there early and expect to wait for a table.
Step 4: Check Out the Menu
Each restaurant has a select menu for the event. The special prices will not be available for the full menu, so decide what you want ahead of time. In most cases, restaurants will not allow substitutions. But there is still an assortment of tasty options!
Step 5: Go!
When Restaurant Week is upon us, the last thing left to do is go and experience the gourmet cuisine! Your taste buds won’t be sorry.
