With warm weather here and the beach beckoning, you know you’re ready for a new, selfie-worthy swimsuit this summer.
Here are some of the latest 2019 trends to look for and, because it’s a season of opposites, there are two sides to every style.
Solid vs. Print
There are so many beautiful simply cut, solid color swimsuits in shades from dusty pastels to super bright tones.
But also, there are suits in some of the best prints in years, from all-over wallpaper prints in muted shades to big splashy vibrant florals.
Cool vs. Warm
Best color of the year: any shade of blue, from light aqua to deep indigo.
Also best color of the year: any shade of coral or yellow and anything in-between.
Cover Up vs. Don’t Cover Up
For the more conservative, there are plenty of options that cover and flatter, including great high-waisted bottoms, longer bikini tops and the versatile tankini.
For the daring, there are super French-cut bottoms, “cheeky” bottoms and lots of cut-outs on everything.
One-Piece Suit vs. Two-Piece Suit
Everyone is trying one-piece suits this year because there are so many fun styles that range from super covered-up to daringly sexy. Some have high necks while others have plunging necklines front and back. Many one pieces this year also have flattering ruffled necklines.
Two-piece suits will always be classic. But there are oh-so-many choices this year—high, low, in-between, constructed, not-constructed, feminine or sporty. There’s something for everyone.
