Stars & Stripes Explosion
If you’re at the Oceanfront, take in a free fireworks show from the beach or along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Following concerts 24th Street Stage and 17th and 31st Street Parks, get ready for a free, patriotic firework display at 9:30 p.m., as part of the Stars & Stripes Explosion.
You’ll be able to see the fireworks from all along the Oceanfront. A number of local bars and restaurants make for a great locale to watch the show and enjoy a meal or drink. Bring a blanket to the beach and watch the sky light up as you lounge in the sand.
July 4th Celebration
More inland, at Mount Trashmore Park, Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is hosting a July 4th Celebration. This free, family-friendly festival concludes with fireworks, by Innovative Pyrotechnic Concepts, at 9:30 p.m.
Before the fireworks, purchase snacks and drinks from one of the many vendors that will be at the event. Mount Trashmore is a giant grassy hill, so there will be plenty of places to layout a blanket and watch the firework display.
