Shopping in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach has several options to choose from when it comes to shopping. Visit Lynnhaven Mall or Pembroke Mall for your favorite national retailers. Hilltop has a number of shopping centers filled with a variety of stores. At Virginia Beach Town Center, you’ll find 17 blocks of boutiques, designer clothing stores and more.

At the Virginia Beach Antique Mall, you’ll explore 12,500 square feet of antiques and collectibles.

Museums in Virginia Beach

Get up close with aquatic life while staying inside at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. Guests of all ages will love experiencing the hands-on exhibits and visiting the hundreds of species at the aquarium.

At the Boardwalk on 24th Street stands the Virginia Beach Surf & Rescue Museum. This museum is a converted, historic coast guard station and serves as a testament to the maritime history which defines Virginia Beach.

Play Some Games

For some good, clean fun, why not play a game or two of bingo? Bingo Palace proves that bingo isn’t just grandma’s game. Each session consists of about 45 games, giving you plenty of opportunities to shout “bingo!” and win some prizes.

Beachside Social, located at the Oceanfront provides a different type of indoor fun. Play shuffleboard and bocce ball at the 10,000-square-foot ocean-line inspired venue. Between games, grab a drink at the bar or a bite to eat at the concession window.

Bring the whole family to Pinboy’s at the Beach for a round of bowling. They offer party packs and discounts, a tasty line of snacks and beverages, and Pinboy’s After Dark from 11 p.m.–1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Mermaid Factory is a creative studio that not only is the “official” supplier of the Norfolk mermaids, but also offers walk-in painting sessions so you can make your own mermaid creation. The studio near the Oceanfront specializes in mermaid, nautical and unique gift items.

Create something beautiful and environmentally friendly at PlantBar. PlantBar is a terrarium building workshop and boutique-style plant store. Guests can create their own custom terrarium with the help of the plant-savvy staff.

Visit the Virginia Beach Art Center to admire, discuss and even buy a beautifully made work of art. Each month, the art center has a new exhibit that explores a special theme. VBAC also offers art classes for artists of all skill levels.

Catch a Show

Virginia Beach has several movie theaters that play the latest box office hits. For a different type of theater experience, visit the Zeiders American Dream Theater. Known as “The Z,” this nonprofit theater showcases gifted performing artists and is a hub for celebrating creative growth and entertainment.
