Virginia Beach plays host to a number of events throughout the year. These range from food and drink festivals, concerts, free live music and plenty of family-fun. Celebrate rock and roll music with Virginia Beach’s answer to Woodstock—Sandstock.
Sandstock – A Tribute to Rock & Roll is inspired by Woodstock. Taking place on the 24th Street beach at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Sandstock brings both national and regional tribute artists for the three-day festival, June 28–30.
These tribute bands will perform hits from some of history’s best rock and roll artists and bands. This year’s Sandstock will pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the original Woodstock Music and Art Festival.
This year’s Sandstock will also include a music education component sponsored by School of Rock. Aspiring musicians will perform on a stage at the Sandstock Village. In addition to the performances, School of Rock will offer hands-on educational activities. Brings the kids out to Sandstock so they can take part in free musical instruction on instruments, along with musical games.
Beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as food from vendors, will be available for purchase.
Sandstock is a free festival. All of the performances are open to the public.
Proceeds from Sandstock benefit the Virginia Legends Walk.
Kiss The Sky, Bargain and Soul Sacrifice will pay tribute to Jimi Hendrix, The Who and Santana.
Head Games, Don’t Look Back and Slippery When Wet will cover classics by Foreigner, Boston and Bon Jovi.

Sandstock takes place rain or shine, however severe weather may cause the festival to be suspended or postponed.
Parking for Sandstock will be available in the 25th Street municipal garage.
