The Virginia Beach Sports Center is a recently completed multi-sport complex that is the East Coast’s newest and largest indoor sports complex and has drastically impacted off-season tourism in a positive manner. With youth sports, adult sports, various events and tournaments, state-of-the-art facilities and more, the Virginia Beach Sports Center attracts both local and traveling sports teams.
The complex is located less than a mile away from the resort area right by the Virginia Beach Convention Center. It features a 200-meter indoor hydraulically banked track, 12 hardwood basketball courts that can transform into 24 volleyball courts, versatile meeting and flex spaces, concessions and seating for up to 5,000 people.
Athletes and spectators from all over the globe visit for the various happenings that are hosted at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. With the facility being so versatile, there are tons of different events that can take place from basketball and volleyball tournaments to wrestling matches and even cheerleading competitions.
Track stars get ready to set foot in races like the AAU Indoor National Championships and NCAA Indoor Track & Field Tournaments. Volleyball players will roll into the arena for big matches like the Northeast Power Series Championship, which is held annually with National, American and U12 divisions, and the Volley ‘n ViBe Volleyball Tournament. The U.S. Finals brings in competitive cheerleaders and their fans to perform fierce routines for judge scoring. Multiple basketball tournaments take place, like Big Shots Virginia Beach May Madness, ASGR Virginia Beach Basketball Classic, Neptune City Classic and Teammate National Championships. And these are just a few of many types of events held at the Sports Center.
Booking accommodations for your team is also an easy task if you work alongside Coastal Championship Rooms (CCR), a local company that helps with team travel details so that the concentration can be centered around winning. Executive Director Heather Desormeaux works with all Tournament Directors and Coaches to ensure that the team block reservation process is seamless.
Whether you’re here as an individual athlete, a team or a fan, or if you’re here for recreational or competitive purposes, the Virginia Beach Sports Center has everything you need for every type of sporting event right in one place.
