Traveling with your sports team is nothing short of its own adventure. It’s the perfect opportunity for team-bonding experiences, social outings or relaxing excursions to get your mind out of the game and enjoy our wonderful resort area.
If you all would rather explore under the sea rather than above it, head to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center, which is right around the corner from the Sports Complex. There are thousands of animals, hands-on exhibits and much more. During certain times of the year, there are also whale watching tours, which can give you an up-close experience with whales that come near our coast, mostly in the winter months.
You can also enjoy guided kayak, SUP, surf and dolphin tours or rentals at Chesapean Outdoors.
A proud part of Virginia Beach’s agricultural heritage, Hunt Club Farm offers farm fun for everyone. It’s the only petting farm in the city and even offers a Treetop Adventure that is great for teams.
Another popular activity is our zip line courses. There are two within close proximity, Adventureworks and The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium. Both offer courses for all skill levels and can add that thrill factor to your visit.
Go for an exciting adventure at Motorworld. Zoom at high speeds in a go karting race against your friends or enjoy smaller rides, a game of paintball and putt-putt. If you’re looking for a calm activity that allows your team to tune into their creative side, consider taking them to the Mermaid Factory, where they can paint their own mermaid and take it home.
The resort area also boasts team activities, like indoor skydiving at iFLY which is amazing fun for all ages. Grab a putter and hit a hole-in-one on Jungle Golf’s animal themed green that also offers a game room to round it out or catch a show at Family Fun Xperience Theatre. This is a unique family-friendly destination with interactive theatrical productions in a comfortable 250 seat theatre. Take on the Oceanfront at night during the summer to experience Live! On Atlantic or to catch a free concert during the Oceanfront Concert Series.
If you’re looking to really bring the team together with a stimulating experience, take them to the Escape Room where they’ll have to work together to make a break for it. APEX in nearby Town Center is a spot where you can do it all, from athletic activities like axe throwing, bowling and rope courses to others like sports simulators, bumper cars and Hologate – the facility’s multiuser virtuality reality world.
For a taste of our surfing and skating culture, Coastal Edge is an East Coast destination in itself offering apparel, footwear, surf and skate hardware along with year-round events of all sizes.
There are plenty of restaurants that await your team. Most in this magazine are open year-round and are thrilled to have you visit. For large parties, it may be wise to call in advance so they can accommodate you to their best.
For some adult time, our area offers a lot of breweries and distilleries, as well as nightly entertainment at Murphy’s Irish Pub, Abbey Road, Ocean 27, Ocean House Waterfront and many more.
Whatever kind of team experience you’re looking for, Virginia Beach has got it all.
