Celebrate Independence Day right here in Virginia Beach. Virginia Beach will be bursting with activities and events to celebrate America’s independence. From live music to spectacular firework displays, here are some things to do on Fourth of July in Virginia Beach.

Run for a Good Cause
Kick off Independence Day with the 40th Annual Independence Day 5k at Mount Trashmore Park. Show off your red, white and blue holiday spirit as you run or walk. The race supports the Y’s Annual Giving Campaign which provides financial assistance for programs and activities for children and older adults. Top finishers will receive $1,000 in gift certificate prizes.
Attend a Family-Friendly Festival
Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation will be celebrating the Fourth of July at the July 4th Celebration. This free, family-friendly festival, at Mount Trashmore Park, will feature musical performances on a main stage, along with children’s activities such as: bounce houses, face painting and yard games. There will be plenty of food vendors on-site that are available for purchase. The night ends with a firework show at 9:30 p.m.
Enjoy Live Music and Fireworks
Enjoy live music across the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at the Stars & Stripes Celebration. This popular, annual event on the Fourth of July features a lineup of artists and bands performing a “star-spangled” salute to America. Find stages on the beach at 24th Street and at the 17th and 31st Street Parks. The event ends with a firework show at night. All concerts are free and open to the public from 7pm-11pm. Fireworks are at 9:30pm.

The night of the Stars & Stripes Celebration, get a one-of-kind view of the firework display on a Fireworks Cruise. The Atlantic Explorer will depart from the Virginia Aquarium at 8:30 p.m. and take guests to watch the sky light up.
