The Artery District
Introducing Virginia Beach’s newest district, The Artery! Running from 31st Street at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk and following the Laskin Road corridor, be sure to experience this emerging section at the Oceanfront.
With a nice mix of restaurants, shops and entertainment, The Artery is a great part of town to spend some time.
Oceanfront Construction
Don’t let construction deter you from visiting the incredible businesses that line Atlantic and Pacific Avenues and other nearby roads. Some development projects such as Atlantic Park between 18th and 20th Streets and various road improvements, including those on Winston Salem Avenue along the Rudee Inlet, are happening but businesses remain open. Please be patient and follow the detour signs so you arrive safely.
The Laskin Road Bridge Replacement and Widening Project
Construction in the heavily traveled Hilltop section began in 2019 and is expected to be completed this year. The primary construction that remains includes completing road work on the eastern end of the Laskin Road corridor and replacing the eastbound bridge over Linkhorn Bay.
Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) Project
Our country’s largest offshore wind project, the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project is paving the way to a clean energy future for the City of Virginia Beach. On track with an expected completion by the end of 2026, this project is approximately half way completed. It will consist of 176 wind turbines, three offshore substations, undersea cables and an onshore transmission infrastructure.
