Year-round, Virginia Beach offers plenty for both locals and visitors alike to enjoy. Here are some of our favorite reasons why you should visit Virginia Beach in the off season.

Less Traffic in Virginia Beach

During the summer, congestion on the roads can make it tough to get to your beachfront destination. Sitting in the car means less time enjoying all Virginia Beach has to offer. In the off season, traffic is far less disruptive meaning less stress and more time for fun and relaxation.

Free parking at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront also begins in October which makes it much easier to visit your favorite attractions, restaurants and shops along Atlantic Avenue.

Virginia Beach’s Bare Beaches

Fall and winter aren’t popular times for crowds of tourists to visit Virginia Beach. Take advantage of this time to relax at one of the city’s beaches. Whether you visit Chic’s Beach, the Oceanfront or Sandbridge, you’re sure to find your piece of the beach that you can call your own.

While the weather may not be best for tanning, you can still surf and fish on these uncrowded beaches. Take peaceful walk along the miles of shoreline, searching for seashells, sea glass and even dolphins playing in the waves.
